Mr.
Guay began his martial arts career in 1978 at a local Tae Kwon Do school.
In November 1979 he transferred his skills to the Danielson Martial Arts
Academy under school founder Master Steve Bardsley.
He received his black belt in April 1983.
In Oct. 1984 he earned his 2nd Dan, and was promoted to 3rd
Dan in April 1989. In October 1993
Mr. Guay became a 4th Dan master belt, and in October
2003, Mr. Guay earned his 5th Dan.
Mr. Guay owned and operated our academy from 1987 to 1994. In that time he was responsible for training and promoting over 20 black belts, including an extraordinary 7 1st Dan’s in one grading. In November 1990 he led a team of 10 black belts from our academy to the Soviet Union for competition. In addition to his DMAA activities, Mr. Guay took an active role in running a Municipal Police Training program from 1983 to 1985. He was a member of the Danielson Police Department from October 1986 to May 1987. He has competed and placed high in several federation as well as open tournaments in men’s sparring competition. Mr. Guay currently runs an additional children’s karate program in Thompson. ![]() |
