3rd Dan Michael Brown (Black Belt #568)

Mr. Brown originally began his martial arts career at the West Haven Academy of Karate in New London in 1991.  He came to our school in April 1992.  He received his Black Belt in June 1994, earning his 2^nd Dan in December 1996.  In April 2000 Mr. Brown was promoted to 3^rd Dan Black Belt.  Mr. Brown is a former member of the United States Air Force where he became a computer programmer. He was a teacher by profession and has also taught classes in self defense to members of the educational community, as well as a Women’s self defense course in Norwich.  Mr. Brown also coaches midget football for the town of Plainfield recreational system.  Mr. Brown has been awarded Grand Champion status in his sparring division several times.   In 1999, when our academy expanded, Mr. Brown assumed the role of Resident Chief Instructor for our Central Village location.
